Album cover analyses Britney Spears

This is an album cover for Britney Spears, the name of the album is 'oops I did it again the best of'. The main image is of the artist and she is in the centre of the shot. She is in mid-shot which provides focus to her higher body, which is used for sexual connotations. She is obviously the main focus of the album cover and is is a carefully choreographed pose. Her hair is flowing quite provocatively, over her eye and shoulders. Her top is undone at the back which again has sexual overtones, this shows her intention to appeal to a male audience.

The setting is in a room which appears to be a bedroom. The colours are very muted and this makes the black of her dress stand out. The background is out of focus which again draws attention to the main image and shows her importance. The natural lighting is coming in through the window in the background, whereas the artificial light is focused in the artists face and hair.

The font for both the album title and the artist is the same but is larger for the artists name. It is all in lower case letters and is very easy to read. The simplicity suggests the desire to target a younger audience. The writing is in a white font which suggests innocence and youth which would again appeal to a younger audience. The writing is also in a bar of pink, which makes it stand out and it also adds colour to the album cover. Pink suggests femininity, youth and energy.
