development of ideas

The original idea for our music video was to have a variety of people, performing the song line by line. People chosen would be non artists and members of the general public known to us. They would be dressed and performing as themselves. This idea appealed to us because it would be interesting and eye catching and an unusual way to perform the song. It would allow us to inject humour and keep a fast pace throughout the song.

We decided that this format would be quite disjointed and we wanted to include an artist to bring the video together and make it more coherent. We both decided to use David, my fellow partner as we felt he would be a suitable candidate. He will be included throughout the song, in regular clips incorporated in the clips of the general public. The video will begin and end with David again showing him to be the main artist. We will use many close up shots of David as we will be selling him as the artist. It is very effective to have the artist included in the video, as it shows the audience who is actually performing on the track that they might buy. David's appearance will be as he would normally be seen to establish a connection with him and the audience.
